About Cary Sister Cities

In 1990, the Cary Sister Cities Association was founded to support the Town of Cary’s sister cities program. Eventually, the program grew to support five sister cities, the first being Le Touquet, France, in September 1992. Subsequently, four more cities were added: March 1993, Hsinchu City, Taiwan; July 2001, County Meath, Ireland; March 2002, Markham, Canada; February 2023, Bandirma, Türkiye. Cary Sister Cities is currently exploring new ways to foster people-to-people connections abroad.

Cary Sister Cities strives to further global understanding and relationships, with a special focus on Cary’s five Sister Cities.
